One person was charged with public nuisance and two people were treated for minor injuries after a street disturbance on North Stradbroke Island early on Friday morning.
Initial reports suggested up to 30 people were involved in a brawl on Jack Lane, behind the Dunwich shops, but officers only found about half that number on the street.
Officer-in-charge of Dunwich Police Station Sergeant Peter Twort said two people were in a physical fight, but the remainder were either in a verbal argument or trying to calm others down.
A thrown rock caused minor damage to a police car, while a bottle was thrown near police.
A fight between two women broke out on a nearby street, but no charges were laid against either of them.
A 21-year-old Riverview man was arrested and charged with public nuisance.
He will face Cleveland Magistrates Court on May 12.
Paramedics treated two women for a head injury and a leg injury.
The rest of the crowd moved on after the disturbance.
