Brisbane DJ Jordan Burns celebrated his 21st birthday in a most unconventional way.
Originally from Wellington Point, the music artist signed a record deal with Sony Music Entertainment, giving him a very good reason to party.
"It was crazy, I didn't expect to get Sony's offer," he said.
"A couple of years ago I would have never of guessed I'd be where I am at the moment. I'll never forget it, that's for sure."
Burns' musical journey began when he started learning guitar at the age of seven.
He began producing music about four years ago.
"It was a natural progression from producing to DJing on turntables in front of crowds," he said.
"I had to have a way to play my own music in front of people. The best way to do that was to get into DJing.
"Other artists were doing it so I thought I'd give it a crack."
Burns became a regular DJ at the MET nightclub in Fortitude Valley, playing there regularly on Saturday nights.
Through hard work and giving it "a crack", he now has a three-EP record deal with Sony.
The first EP will be released on May 1 and he has already begun work on the 2nd, with an option for a third.
Burns has already played at both the Stereosonic and Future Music festivals and will soon be embark on a national tour.
