My wife and I recently returned from a two-week road trip with our caravan through New South Wales and Victoria.
The cost of fuel is always an issue for caravanners, but what we discovered has shocked us.
On the southbound leg of the trip the price of fuel dropped by 10 cents per litre just over the Queensland-NSW border and remained that way for two weeks.
The most we paid was $1.30 a litre for 91ULP undiscounted even out in country areas. Often we paid much less.
On the northbound leg before Easter, however, the price jumped by 10 cents per litre as soon as we crossed back over the border.
I recall both the LNP and ALP promising year after year to keep a lid on fuel prices in Queensland. Both have clearly failed to do that. Now we don't hear a murmur from them.
With vehicle registration and fuel prices so much higher in Queensland, is it any wonder that jobs have been disappearing here?
