Stradabroke Ferries has unveiled barge fares for the next year with prices for cars ranging from $49.50 to $85.
For the first time, one-way fares can be booked and online bookings attract a $5 discount each way.
The cheapest fare for a family sedan is $49.50 which is only offered on Saturdays. It also is eligible for a $5 discount if the booking is made online.
The $49.50 fare applies to barge services from Cleveland at 5.30am and 7am and on all Saturday barges leaving Dunwich after 1pm.
The cheapest fare for those leaving the island in a family car on Sunday is $65 ($60 with online booking discount).
It now costs $27 to take a motorcycle on the barge and a car with a trailer $82.50.
The popular $69 Straddie Shopper Day barge fare for island residents was scrapped as part of the overhaul. But walk-on passengers can still get a return trip on the barge for $10.
Stradbroke Ferries chief executive David Thomson said he hoped the new fares would encourage more tourists to the island and help the ferry company minimise costs.
He said it would help spread demand for the barge service across the week and help the company use its boats more efficiently.
The Straddie Chamber of Commerce has also asked Mr Thomson to explain his company's strategy for the fare overhaul.

Mr Thomson said a new pontoon at Dunwich would be completed by early next week, possibly Monday.
He said the company had gone to great lengths to ensure passengers were safe getting on and off boats at the company's Dunwich terminal.
Straddie Ferries temporarily berthed its Moongalba barge at the Dunwich terminal as an alighting deck for passengers.
It will be used as a pontoon while the new structure is being built.
"We had the option of shutting down the entire service for the week or replacing the pontoon with another structure and this is a good alternative," Mr Thomson said.
