CLEVELAND'S Robert and Caroline Strahle celebrated their diamond anniversary recently.
They were married at Saint Peters' Church of England at Brighton Beach in Melbourne in 1955.
After working together in the electrical engineering department of Victorian Rail, Robert asked Caroline on a date.
Caroline said Robert took her to a dance at Caulfield Town Hall in Victoria.
"I loved him right from the start," she said.
She said her marriage was filled with plenty of laughter and fun throughout the years.
To celebrate their marriage milestone they embarked on a two week cruise on the MS Volendam from Singapore to Burma and back.
They are the proud parents of five boys, grandparents of seven and great grandparents of six.
