REDLANDS Probus Club celebrated its 35th birthday at its April general meeting with a special cake and congratulatory certificates.
Rotary District 9630 Probus chairman Nick Curry presented a congratulatory certificate from Probus South Pacific Limited, as did Probus Association of Queensland president Peter Bishop.
Warren Hull, chairman of the newly formed Southern Bayside Probus Region, joined in the celebration of the success of the club, which is the second oldest in the greater Brisbane area, with Algester formed two weeks earlier.
The meeting heard from Belinda Marsden-Smedley about the latest developments in Queensland's medical research being undertaken at the QIMR-Berghofer Institute.
Redland Probus Club meets on the third Tuesday of the month at the Victoria Point Sharks Sporting Club at 9.30am.
The guest speaker on May 19 will talk about international travel opportunities.
