I would love to see the two Redland Bay sites proposed for a service station developed as soon as possible as the existing old garage is an eyesore.
A service station next to the site of the old garage is a logical use for this area and is not a major departure from what existed before.
With the eventual redevelopment of Weinam Creek as the gateway to the south Moreton Bay islands, Government Road will remain a major entry point from points south.
To say that this service station will detract from the quiet, peaceful family neighbourhood is a stretch as this is already a busy road for users of the Weinam Creek area including commuters catching ferries, motorists catching ferries, boating users, and locals going to the village shops.
The inclusion of convenience shops in this area would only enhance the area.
