An application has been submitted to the Redland City Council to build a seven storey housing block with 215 apartments in the heart of Cleveland on the corner of Queen and Waterloo streets.
The very real likelihood is 400 to 700 people will live there demanding water, electricity, services and access and the possibility of 300 cars entering and exiting the premises every day.
All of the second cars the occupants own will be cluttering streets for up to three blocks around the new building.
There's simply not enough infrastructure to accommodate an explosion of people on the corner of a suburban street. If this monolith is allowed to go ahead, surrounding property values will fall and some nearby residents will live in the permanent shadow of this beast . . . and what about privacy?
Residents from the third floor up will be able to see straight into your windows and backyards if you live within a five block radius.
This is a reckless and dangerous application (No. MCU013391).
If you only voice your opinion once in your lifetime do it now oppose this application.
This seven storey monster is not suitable for Cleveland it's just plain wrong.
