HEADLINING the Golden Cockerel Gala Concert at the Redlands Ukulele Festival will be The Montgomery Brothers.
Ryo Montgomery returns to the festival this year and he and his band are sure to liven up the party with concert sets that will have the audience up and dancing.
Performing in the style of Tommy and Phil Emmanuel and Chet Atkins, their virtuosity on the fret board and Cajon drum is unsurpassed.
The group has gone gold with its first album, Live & Burnin', and is fresh back from a tour in Hawaii and Los Angeles, a show with Tommy Emmanuel in Arizona, and a national tour.
Joining them on stage, and back by popular demand, is Thom Jackson with his wife Elisa on percussion.
Thom will again present his inimitable style of music, which delighted audiences last year.
Thom, a whimsical and talented composer and lyricist, is a regular at Australian and international festivals.
Performing alongside these artists is Bobby Alu on ukulele, snare and log drum and Stewart Barry with vocals and U-Bass.
Ukulele and cello duo Gollagher Ross, with a lively and eclectic blend of original and traditional roots music, and Redlands Soul Ukes will provide the pre-concert entertainment.
The Redlands Ukulele Festival will be held in a range of Cleveland venues on Saturday and Sunday, June 13 and 14, with the Golden Cockerel Gala Concert rolling out at Cleveland State School hall from 6.30pm on the Saturday (pre-concert entertainment from 5.30pm).
Food and drinks will be available.
