The Russell Island Junior Rugby League Football Club hosted St Brendans Brothers last weekend.
The Under 8s gave a determined exhibition of skilful rugby, with exceptional skills by try scorers Haydon Wilkes (three), Malcolm Wilmott and Mikey Maxwell (two each). Nathaniel Hoppo, Savannah Herbert, Thyler and Rhylee Searle all put in outstanding defensive efforts.
The Under 10s had a tough encounter. Rampaging runs by the Stingrays' Oskar Wickstead, Ryley Kaye, Max Wilmott and Aydon Moore were eyecatching, while Benji Savage, Lachlan Searle and Nate Schultz inspired with their tackling.
Leon Whell played well and tries were scored by James Roarty and Bailey James, who also kicked a goal.
