CAPALABA Tavern, Redland Bay Hotel and Victoria Point Tavern have applied to stay open until 3am.
The three venues, owned by Australian Leisure and Hospitality Group, applied to the Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation, to trade until 3am, seven days a week.
ALH Group, a Woolworths subsidiary, has 85 applications in for extended hotel hours.
Closing times of the group’s pubs currently range from midnight to 2am.
Victoria Point resident Maria Sealy, who lives near Victoria Point Tavern, lodged an objection to the extended hours in December.
Mrs Sealy said the public notification was inadequate as a notice board on the Eprapah Scout Hall fence was not in a highly visible spot.
“The Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation also told me it did not have authorisation to post the public notification board about the extended hours on the scout fence,” she said.
“The office spokesman also told me it had not publicised the application for the trading hours in the newspaper, which is a requirement under law.
“Residents are concerned about noise and crime in the early hours of the morning if the extra hours are granted because there is still no CCTV camera.”
Victoria Point councillor Lance Hewlett, who also made a submission opposing the extension, said the tavern was in a residential area, not the Brisbane nightclub precinct of The Valley.
He said he was waiting for the state government to heed his pleas for a police station in the area.
“There will be no value in extending the hours – there are already enough social issues in that area and with a massive amount of development planned nearby it would only get worse.”
The applications come as the Palaszczuk government investigates a 1am lockout for pubs and clubs, with no shots after midnight and a 3am closing time.
The 3am lockout applies to all late-trading licensed premises across Queensland.
The state claimed it put the deadline in place to protect patrons, the community and hospitality workers from alcohol-related harm in and around licensed venues.
The 3am lockout allows liquor licensees that have late-trading approval to continue trading past 3am but does not allow the entry or re-entry of patrons after 3am.
If patrons go outside to smoke, move their car, or meet up with friends, they will not be permitted to re-enter the venue or any other venue.
The ALH Group was established as a business unit of CUB in the mid 1990s.
After Fosters Group floated it on the share market in November 2003, it was taken over by the Woolworths-owned Bruandwo Group in late 2004.
ALH Group spokesman David Curry said the company did not comment on pending applications.
