Detectives say they’ve smashed a drug trafficking network supplying ice to bayside suburbs stretching from Redland Bay to Wynnum.
A 38-year-old man and 37-year-old woman were charged with trafficking dangerous drugs after police raided their Ormiston house early on Tuesday morning.
The man faces an additional 130 supply charges and two counts of possess anything used in the commission of a crime, while the woman faces two counts of supplying dangerous drugs to a minor and 12 counts of supplying dangerous drugs.
He is due to face Cleveland Magistrates Court on Wednesday and the woman’s matters have been adjourned to a later date.
Seven other people have been charged with various drug offences as part of Operation Mike Henley, targeting ice supply in the Redlands and Brisbane’s bayside suburbs.
Detective Acting Inspector Paul Austin said investigations started in October last year, when police discovered methylamphetamine was being sold to minors.
He said the operation had seriously disrupted the drug network on the bayside.
“Police have also seized a significant amount of suspected stolen property,” he said.
“There have been some long hours done by a handful of dedicated detectives. They’ve been supported by their colleagues in the Tactical Crime Squad.”
Investigations are continuing as part of the operation, with further arrests expected.
