TANYA Spethman, mother of two from Capalaba, has always been a big believer in hand-crafted activities for children.
Together with her eight-year-old son, Lachlan, Tanya has managed to build a Chinese dragon in the hope of winning her son's school, Alexandra Hills Primary, a $10,000 art room renovation.
Spotlight Capalaba is offering locals a free box of Rainbow Loom Bands via a Facebook competition.
The aim is to then create something amazing from scratch to go in the chance to win $10,000 towards their art room.
"Kids today spend far too much time on iPads and computers, this is decreasing their attention spans, damaging their coordination and their ability to follow instructions. Rainbow Loom Band creations go against the technological craze amongst children and ultimately help to improve their concentration and coordination," said Tanya.
