Portraits of 221 seniors, taken between 1993 and 2002, will be displayed together for the first time at the Redland Museum as a fitting finale to Seniors Week.
RedArts president Susan Russell said she was seeking those seniors involved and their immediate families to attend and be suitably honoured at the launch of the exhibition.
She said the 10-year project was, at the time, the Redland Arts Council's contribution to Senior Citizens Week and it was appropriate to re-visit the project during the same time this year.
The project culminated in a book titled Redlands Remembers, which featured 221 seniors and was published in April 2003 and officially launched by Judy Spence, then Minister for Families.
The book further honoured special senior citizens in the Redlands, notably those who had contributed considerably to the development of the Redlands during their lives.
"The photographs and a potted oral biography have been in the archives of the Redland City Council for the past 13 years. It is a privilege to bring them out to be hung together for the first time.
"There are 115 portraits to be exhibited together. It is a significant contribution to Redland's social history and will allow the community to view these portraits and read about their lives, their stories, and their struggles in creating a life for themselves whilst they developed what is now the Redland City," she said.
"The Redland Museum is an appropriate venue for the exhibition as many of their display items of farming equipment, transport, clothing and household goods were donated by many of the early residents who are the subjects of the photographs."
Previously, the portraits were hung on an annual basis.
The new exhibition will be launched at 2pm on August 23 and remain on display at the Dunn wing of the museum until the end of September.
"It is important that we get in touch with those involved. We very much want to invite them to come to the launch. That would mean a great deal," Susan said.
The project has been made possible through funding from the Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services and the support of COTA Queensland, with the support of the Redland Museum and the Redland City Council Library Services.
