The penultimate round of fantasy football action kicks off on Friday night, but with two teams – Fremantle and North Melbourne — openly adopting a resting policy, it's created havoc for Ultimate Footy coaches.
With key Kangaroos and Dockers missing, along with numerous suspended or injured stars, fantasy grand finals will be determined by the last men standing. Rory Laird makes the top five defenders this week, on the back of sensational form, which deserves mention. The aggressive Crow defender has enjoyed a breakout season in 2015 that many of us thought might come from his teammate, Brodie Smith.
Scott Pendlebury has been magnificent once again this year, and is one of the few top draft picks in fantasy that have delivered on their pre-season promise. Hot on his heels in the overall stakes is Dan Hannebery, who is enjoying a career-best year.
Taylor Adams and Tom Mitchell feature in our top five forwards for the last week of the year, but it also may be the last time that the pair are eligible as forwards. Playing mainly as midfielders in 2015, their Ultimate Footy positions are likely to be "midfield only" from next season.
Lastly, we love Nic Naitanui this week. Up against two-gamer Jason Holmes, "Nic Nat" could win the game for the Eagles, and his Ultimate Footy coaches, single-handedly.
