I'm writing to voice my concern regarding the proposed subdivision for Clay Gully Road and Brendan Way.
The proposal as it stands is totally unacceptable. Apart from the subdivision for very small blocks, has anyone thought about the very small, narrow roads feeding this area? Brendan Way for example, leading into the subdivision. If this went ahead, I shudder to think what the state of the roads will be like when all the homes have been built; after hundreds of concrete trucks etc. have finished running up and down day in month out, regardless of anything else. Then hundreds of cars daily there after.
We've recently relocated to Victoria Point and no way would we have done so had we known Council would even consider such a proposal. We have no problem with progress, but certainly object to tiny allotments where everyone is jutted and cramped in on top of one another.
The area we left (Sunshine Coast) had the exact same thing happen, and within a few short years it was a disaster – just a slum with no infrastructure. Try driving along one of these roads on a weekend when all the residents are home and have all their cars parked outside. It’s just impossible. The very same thing will happen here.
Again using Brendan Way as an example, there is no way it can be widened or upgraded to cater for huge volumes of traffic. I don't live on Brendan Way, but am concerned the Redlands isn't turning into a concrete jungle and throwing away the beautiful lifestyle we now share.
I urge everyone to take the time and read the proposed changes.
