AN arts and crafts exhibition being held at the Killara Respite Centre in Cleveland showcases handiwork done by seniors.
The art and craft includes paintings, jewellery, wood carvings, decoupage, photo books, knitting, crocheting and garden projects
Una Sandeman, Lifestyle Lead at Anglicare SQ said the Killara Respite Centre’s arts and craft exhibition was a chance for their clients, who are mostly seniors, to showcase their handiwork to the local community.
“Anglicare’s Killara Respite Centre is designed to help people to remain active and connect with each other in a positive environment.
“This exhibition is a way of supporting people who may otherwise be isolated at home,” Ms Sandeman said.
Anglicare’s clients have worked for weeks on arts and crafts to display to the community.
“It’s been very satisfying for them to share their talents with others, while making new friends,” said Ms Sandeman.
The display is open to members of the public daily between 10am and 2pm until Friday, October 30
Entry is by gold coin donation and items are also for sale, with funds being put back into the Killara facility.
The exhibition is being held at Killara Respite Centre, 71 Wynyard Street, Cleveland.
