RBA keeps rates on hold at 2%
The Reserve Bank has left interest rates on hold at 2 per cent for the eighth consecutive time.
It was the bank’s first meeting for the year, which started off on a rocky basis with the All Ordinaries Index plummeting below the psychological 5000-point barrier on January 7.
It was the worst start of a year on the local sharemarket with the All Ords losing 2.1 per cent.
The RBA's last 25-basis-point cut was in May.
