Leon Cameron has signed a new two-year contract extension that will see him stay on as Greater Western Sydney coach until at least the end of 2018.
Cameron's current deal was set to expire at the conclusion of this season and the Giants have moved swiftly to lock him in at the club for the foreseeable future.
Since Cameron officially took over the reins in 2014, the fledgling expansion club has enjoyed gradual improvement and missed out on a maiden finals berth last year by two games.
In 2015, GWS won a club-best 11 games which was more than they won in their first three seasons combined (nine).
In fact, 17 of the Giants' 20 AFL victories have been achieved under Cameron's leadership.
The former Richmond and Bulldogs star initially joined Greater Western Sydney as a senior assistant under Kevin Sheedy in 2013.
Cameron said he was looking forward to being involved in the Giants' promising future.
"It was a really easy decision to re-sign. It gives myself, our coaching staff and the playing group a great opportunity to keep progressing and hopefully reach the ultimate goal of a premiership," Cameron said.
"Having lived in Sydney for three years, this city and this club feels like home to me and my family, and I want to be part of this club that proudly represents Western Sydney and Canberra on the national stage.
"Like the 10 players who re-signed last year, I've committed to this club because we have a fantastic culture at the Giants and are building something special.
"I'm really looking forward to 2016 - we want to play finals footy, but we've got to earn the right to do that and hopefully our pre-season allows us to stand up to the 22 weeks and beyond that are coming our way this year."
GWS CEO David Matthews said the club was delighted to have re-signed Cameron.
"Leon Cameron has done a fantastic job leading our young team in his first two seasons and we're very confident he's the right person to continue taking this group forward," Matthews said.
"He's had a significant impact on this club in a relatively short space of time.
"Our win-loss record has improved dramatically and he's been pivotal in seeing our young stars, including Jeremy Cameron, Dylan Shiel, Devon Smith, Stephen Coniglio and Phil Davis, re-commit to the club."
Cameron has a 39 percent winning rate from 44 games coached so far.
