Race 1 - TFE Hotels Fernhill Handicap, 1600m
Prized Icon is yet to record a race win, but he has form around some good horses and he looks well-placed to finally break his maiden in what is a fairly weak race.
Team Snowden keep winning two-year-old races and you can't discount Reinforced, who can bounce back here. Crown Him comes from the same form line as those two horses and has to be respected, while Obscura looks as though he will be suited by the step up to 1600 metres.
Race 2 - South Pacific Classic, 1400m
This is a very open affair. Santa Ana Lane failed to fire in the Darby Munro Stakes, but she has trialled well since and her form is good enough to win a race of this quality.
Chandana is an interesting runner for Chris Waller and she finished her summer campaign with a very impressive win. If she is forward enough, she can win from the outside gate at a big price.
Kimberley Star and Mawahibb could factor, but I am keen to oppose at their current prices.

Race 3 - Provincial Championships Final, 1400m
This is another race that has a great deal of depth. His Majesty is a horse that has genuine city form and I think the freshen-up will suit him here. Supreme Effort beat him last start and has to be respected again.
The big move has come for Hetty Heights and it is easy to see why. She ran a good time to win at Wyong last start and she is a horse with a progressive profile. I am happy to oppose the majority of the Kris Lees runners and the Noel Mayfield-Smith-trained Unequivocal might be the best roughie.
Race 4 - Percy Sykes Stakes, 1200m
Prompt Response is a filly that looks to have all the talent in the world and she had excuses last start, but I'm not sure that the track will suit as it will be tough to lead all the way and win. Thyme For Roses was excellent at Flemington last start and the fact that she has had a trial between runs is a positive.
Twist Tops has followed a similar path and she is a filly that will be flying home late in what will likely be the best part of the track.

Race 5 - Arrowfield Sprint, 1200m
This is a high-quality race and there are plenty of winning chances.
Japonisme has performed well without winning against the older horses at group 1 level and there is no doubt that he is the class horse in the field. His stablemate Counterattack has always promised plenty without really delivering, but could be worth another chance at good odds.
Petits Filous ran good time to win first-up at Caulfield but she is another horse that might not be suited by the track. Kinglike, Takedown and Spill The Beans could all run big races at double figure odds.
Race 6 - Australian Oaks, 2400m
Jameka will back-up from the Australian Derby last weekend and she is a clear favourite in the market with Ladbrokes. She is a very tough filly and the fact that she has a run under her belt at 2400 metres is a positive. The New Zealand Derby form stacked up in a big way in the Australian Derby when Tavago scored a dominant win and he was beaten home by both Valley Girl and Capella at Ellerslie.
Sofia Rosa comes through the New Zealand Oaks, which does not look ike the strongest form line, while Happy Hannah clearly has talent, but is a touch on the short side at her current price.

Race 7 - Sydney Cup, 3200m
Chris Waller dominates betting in the Sydney Cup and Who Shot Thebarman, Grand Marshal and Libran are the leading chances.
The BMW is not often the best lead-up for the Sydney Cup and you had to be impressed with the way that Libran found the line in the Chairman's Handicap, so I am leaning in his direction.
There has been money for Gallante and you have to respect the Macedon Lodge team in staying events. It would not surprise to see both Almoonqith and Auvray improve substantially over 3200 metres.
Race 8 - Coolmore Legacy Stakes, 1600m
Azkadellia produced a gallant effort to finish third behind Winx and Happy Clapper in the Doncaster Mile and this is her chance to win a group 1. She can produce closing sectionals that can't be matched by any other horse in this field and she has previously performed well with on a quick back-up.
Suavito failed to fire in the Australian Cup, but before that she ran very well against the boys and her best is good enough to win this race at a good price.
Zanbagh was excellent last start and needs to be respected along with talented filly Badawiya, who had excuses last start.
Race 9 - Queen Elizabeth Stakes, 2000m
There is no Winx in the Queen Elizabeth Stakes, but that has made it a more interesting betting race.
The United States was excellent in the Ranvet Stakes and he has produced a number of high rating performances this time in. He is a deserving favourite.
The main danger is last year's winner Criterion, who will be retired to stud after this run. He loomed up to win the Ranvet Stakes before a lack of fitness told late, but he should be ready to peak here. The softer the track the better for him as he is arguably the best wet-tracker in Australia.
Preferment has to be respected on the back of two group 1 victories, but there are question marks over his ability to handle the wet. Happy Clapper is the X-factor and could produce a surprise result.

Race 10 - Sapphire Stakes, 1200m
Griante scored a richly deserved victory in The Galaxy last start and she is well over the odds here. She loves the string out of the track and she was only narrowly denied in this race last year.
Secret Agenda is yet to fire this preparation, but she has to be respected if the track remains close to the heavy range.
Two Blue doesn't win out of turn, but with luck in running she can go close here and $17 is a good price. Sultry Feeling, Bring Me the Maid and Bounding could all win without surprising.
