Greater Western Sydney coach Leon Cameron wants Foxtel and Channel Seven to give the coaches their "own space" in the coaches box after the broadcasters aired notes that he made to address players at three quarter time of Saturday night's clash against Adelaide.
They were basically "headlines" relating to players needing to be more focused and communicating better rather than strategic specifics.
Cameron clearly did not use the intrusion as an excuse for the Giants' 22-point loss to the Crows, but admitted he did not like the invasion of his space in the box.
"Did I like it... not really, but it is what it is," Cameron said.
"I can understand that there is an interest in looking at the coach being a lunatic at times, which we all are – I shouldn't say about the other 17 but sometimes I am – but there's no doubt we will have a chat and fix it up.
"You just have to be careful because it is our space. We'll fix it up.
"I was surprised at that stage, but within 30 seconds I had got over it and probably forgot about it until now.
"Fox have been fantastic, Seven have been fantastic; they are both great broadcasters of the game. I think the coaches and the clubs give great access to show the supporter what actually happens at a footy club and we will continue to be very open with the media.
"Whether they (broadcasters) went a bit too far we will work that out within the next 24 or 48 hours."
The Giants played in front of their record home-and-away crowd – 46,737 – which Cameron thought was great experience for his players. It was also their only 11th night game.
The Giants face successive big road games with Geelong at Simonds Stadium on Saturday, but Cameron was not bothered by the schedule.
"Obviously we have a second home in Canberra, but we still travel," he said. "It is fantastic going to Canberra.
"We have been on the road six out of 10 and we have to go again next week. It is okay. There are a number of sides with back-to-back this year.
"If we have good performances and we're winning it doesn't matter. We need to bounce back against Geelong; we're on the road again. Time is going to tell on that."
The Giants expect to regain their captain Phil Davis (hamstring) and Matt Buntine (concussion) for the Geelong game, but are concerned that Adam Kennedy suffered heavy concussion with 80 seconds remaining in the game against Adelaide.
While the Giants have successive road trips, Adelaide again plays at home , against St Kilda, and expects to regain key defender Rory Laird.
Cameron described playing in front of a huge crowd tonight as valuable experience. "Absolutely," he said. "And the challenges keep on coming.
"We play Geelong next week, it's a huge challenge and that's all we can worry about. But in terms of the atmosphere (tonight) that's great.
"But if you ask the players I don't think the atmosphere got to them. They just didn't deliver on what they know they can."
