Footage of a giant alligator on a golf course in Florida has gone viral - with the seemingly dinosaur-size reptile appearing to dwarf stunned players filming its progress across a fairway.
The vision was taken at Buffalo Creek Golf Course in Palmetto in Florida and circulated widely since golfer Charles Helms shared it on Facebook.
The massive creature towers over an adjacent bunker - you call that a hazard? - and has drawn predictable comparisons to Jurrassic Park.
"That's the biggest freaking alligator I've seen in my life," Mr Helms can be heard saying on the vision.
"It must be 15, 16 feet long. I think that might be two guys in an alligator suit.
"Dave, get next to it for perspective. Holy crap."
A fellow golfer - presumably Dave - moves forward to get his own footage and provide the necessary perspective, with the gator standing so tall that its belly looks to be several feet off the grass.
"I was stunned and silent," Helms told ABC Action News.
"I didn't know if we were being punked or something ... It was just laying down, resting, when it got up and started moving towards the big lake."
The obscene size of the gator has prompted speculation that it might not be real but there are reports that course management has been aware of its existence.
"He doesn't bother anybody and they don't bother him, he's like a mascot for the course," course employee Wendy Schofield said to 3 News.
"People have heard that he is out here and that is all they want to see so they will bring spectators to ride so somebody can get a picture."
If the gator is legitimate, it sure puts to shame the one that took Chubbs' arm in Happy Gilmore.
