A Thornlands horse riding centre for people with disabilities is holding a book launch to help it ride through a financial rough patch.
Calisto Park Equestrian Centre will host author Joanne Verikios who recently published her book Winning Horsemanship.
Ms Verikios has backed the school since it hit money problems last month.
Redland City Council has paid for the book launch, which will be held at the Taylor Road centre on Sunday from 2pm.
Prizes and raffle baskets will be held and founder Clair Byrne will make an appearance with the property owner Lorette Wigan, who generously provides space for CPEC.
Councillors and possibly actors will make an appearance and the centre hopes to raise more than $4000.
Those who want to attend, can contact Joanne Verikios on horsemanship@internode.on.net
About 27 riders a week use the Calisto Park Equestrian Centre facility, the brainchild of disabled rider Ms Byrne, who set it up in 2012 to create a hub for disabled.
It was a dream come true for Ms Byrne whose centre flourished to become the largest disabled riding park south of Brisbane.
Riders’ ages range from three to 60 and they have conditions including Rett syndrome, Williams syndrome and autism.
