SKATEBOARDING, scooters and BMX riding will be part of the fun for those under 18 when Macleay Island holds its SMBI Day Out on July 16.
The event is organised by a group of Macleay Island residents concerned there are not enough events organised for those aged between 1`0 and 18. The Macleay Island Lions Club and The Cage Youth Foundation, which is based at Redland Bay, have given the organisers support.
The event is expected to become part of a regular series of youth fun days, catering for islanders and those from the mainland. If you have suggestions for any competitions or want to volunteer, contact the organisers via Facebook at SBI Day Out.
The event will be held at the Macleay Island skate park from 10am. A suitcase sale is expected to be held next month.
