Redlands Tigers will host an information evening for female cricketers on Friday, July 29 from 6:30pm at the Redlands Tigers Club House, Birkdale Road, Wellington Point.
Club coach Nick Hurford said it was a very exciting time to be associated with Redlands Tigers.
“Not only are we the current Premier Club Champions but we are embarking on a new era and will be seeking to enter a team in the Women’s 2nd Grade Premier Cricket Competition,” Hurford said.
“The club is committed to establishing a dominant female force in the area by growing the game and giving opportunities for players to develop their skills.
“Players will have access to arguably the best training facilities of all the premier grade clubs and will play scheduled fixtures on the award winning home wickets including Peter Burge Oval.
“Players will have an opportunity to tour the facilities on the night.”
With the help of Cricket Australia and Queensland Cricket the Redlands executive is putting its full support behind growing women’s cricket in the Redlands and details of capped fees, new one-day coloured apparel and sponsorship deals will be outlined during the night.
Coaching staff will also be on hand to chat about the training schedule and representative opportunities at the next level as well as answer any questions.
Being an information night it is open to all, whether local female cricketers in our region, players looking to switch clubs and start afresh or even female athletes from other sports who are looking for a summer sport.
