A FEDERAL Police and Human Services taskforce investigating non-compliance and fraud in the welfare system has conducted a search of a Capalaba house.
Taskforce Integrity Assistant Commissioner Ray Johnson said staff have executed a search warrant in the Capalaba area.
“No arrests were made and as the investigation is ongoing it would be inappropriate to make further comment,” he said.
Human Services Minister Alan Tudge said Taskforce Integrity was working closely with the AFP and other partner agencies to focus on specific geographic locations where a high risk of non-compliance and fraud had been identified.
“The Australian government is serious about protecting the integrity of Australia’s welfare system to ensure payments are targeted and that people get the right payment they are entitled to – no more and no less,” he said.
