THE Cleveland Uniting Church Mens Shed has constructed stage props for a school production of The Lion King JR.
Cleveland State School music teacher Shauna Grice said she had contacted the Mens Shed as they needed drama boxes and a platform with detachable stairs.
“The CUC Mens Shed has played a significant role in the construction of our props,” she said.
“These will be a valuable contribution to our drama group for many years to come.”
President of the CUC Mens Shed Graham Swann said the members were pleased to be involved in building the props.
“It is their way of helping the local community,” he said.
Over 100 students are involved in the school production, which is based on the animated movie The Lion King.
Performances will be held at the school on Wednesday, August 31 at 12pm and 6.30pm and Thursday, September 1 at 6.30pm.
Tickets for the Wednesday matinee are $5 each and for the evening performances $10 for adults, $5 for primary school children and $25 for families (two adults and two primary school children).
Refreshments will be available during the interval in the evening performances.
Tickets available from Monday, August 1 at the school, which is on the corner of Queen and Wynyard Street, Cleveland.
