As the 2016 Olympic Games kicks off this August, Cleveland Aquatic Centre is giving children the opportunity to win a training session with Olympic medalist, swimmer Brooke Hanson.
Australian aquatic, fitness and leisure management specialists, Belgravia Leisure, operator of Cleveland Aquatic Centre, is running a national competition in which one child will win a one-on-one coaching lesson with Brooke.
The competition is open to children aged from six months to 16 years who enrol in the swimming and water safety program at Cleveland Aquatic Centre from August 1 to 31.
Hanson is the official ambassador and key liaison officer at Belgravia Leisure, leading the swimming and water safety programs which are taught by AUSTSWIM™ accredited teachers and available for people of all ages.
Belgravia Leisure aims to raise awareness of water safety and remind people that swimming is an important lifelong skill that should be practiced all year round.
“The excitement of the Olympic season is a great time to focus the attention of Australian families on the importance of swimming skills and water safety. As a mother of three, and having personally experienced the dangers of water, it’s important to me to promote the fundamental message that all children must be equipped with the necessary skills to be safe around water,” Hanson said.
“I’m really proud to be a part of this promotion and I am looking forward to training some Olympic swimming champions in-the-making.” Brooke said.
