Ekka lovers are lining up for their chance to begin a Great Outback Adventure.
With the annual event in its second week, and public holidays staggered throughout the south east region, thousands of visitors to the Brisbane Showgrounds are getting their taste of what country Queensland has to offer.
For one family on Saturday, they’ll be able to extend that experience much further if they’re lucky enough to win the Great Outback Adventure sponsored by Beaudesert Times, Jimboomba Times, Redland City Bulletin and Fairfax Print and Logistics, Beaudesert.
The Great Outback Adventure will provide guests the opportunity to win a multi-destination prize, showcasing regional Queensland towns and their attractions, in a ‘choose your own adventure’ style prize package.
The package includes a trip to the Birdsville Races with flights to and from Brisbane and an outback escape to Longreach, with a visit to the Stockman’s Hall of Fame.
The Great Outback Adventure will provide guests the opportunity to win a prize showcasing regional Queensland towns and their attractions.
The winner will be announced on Saturday.
Entrants will complete a ‘scavenger hunt’ card, collecting stamps from participating partners in the Agriculture Hall.
Queensland group managing editor Brad Cooper said the competition was aimed at reigniting a passion for regional Queensland tourism and fostering interest among city residents in the attractions the state’s rural and regional centres have to offer.
