Once touted as a potential top-two draft pick, erratic Port Adelaide forward John Butcher's seven-year stay at the club has ended with his delisting.
Butcher, 25, played 31 games after he was drafted by Port at pick 8 in the 2009 draft.
Despite kicking 11 goals in three games upon making his debut late in 2011, Butcher failed to cement his spot under either Matthew Primus or Ken Hinkley, with his struggles kicking for goal well-documented.
Port on Tuesday also cut Sam Colquhoun after 16 games in four seasons as well as fringe midfielder Kane Mitchell, who played 35 games in the same period.
Power assistant coach Garry Hocking also parts ways with the club. The former Geelong champion served as caretaker coach after Primus was sacked late in 2012.
Port football manager Chris Davies thanked those departing.
"It's a difficult time of year when the club needs to make decisions for its short and long term future regarding our football structure," Port Adelaide's general manager of football Davies told the club's website.
"John, Kane and Sam have given great service to our club and we wish them all the best with their futures.
"And Garry's tenure at the club has been the most significant of our coaching panel.
"We thank him for his work since 2010 as a development, line coach and Magpies coach for two seasons."
The delistings follow the retirement of veteran forward Jay Schulz - who played the last of his 194 AFL games at the weekend.
There may be more change to come, according to Davies.
"We are reviewing the footy program on the back of the season at the moment, and will potentially make further changes ahead of the draft and trade period," he said.
