REDLAND charity Play List Group is closer to giving children with a disability a new play option, thanks to the Jeffrey and Geraldine Underhill Grants Program.
The group hopes Redland businesses will dig deep to help fund the remaining $7000 needed to buy specially designed play equipment.
The Redland Foundation’s Jeffrey and Geraldine Underhill Grants Program has awarded a $6000 grant to Play List Group to help fund a spider web climbing frame at Tea-cup Cottage’s The Cubbyhouse children’s respite home in Birkdale.
Play List Group director and Redlands disability advocate Alexandra Shaw said the grant was a much-needed boost for the campaign to fund the play equipment, which will cost $13,000.
“We are very thankful to the Jeffrey and Geraldine Underhill Grants Program for their generosity in supporting this worthy initiative which will directly benefit the children with special needs who visit our respite home,” Mrs Shaw said.
“However, we are still in need of another $7000 to reach our goal. Our sensory playground forms an important part of the activities we offer to children who visit The Cubbyhouse to support their health and well being and give them the opportunity to have fun in a safe space and just be kids.”
