OLYMPIAN Shannon Parry enjoyed morning tea with residents of the Freedom Aged Care centre in Redland Bay on Friday.
Ms Parry’s grandmother Pauline Roskom has lived in the centre since November 2012.
The sportswoman was a member of the Australian female rugby union team which returned from the Rio Olympic Games with a gold medal.
The residents at the centre took turns wearing Ms Parry’s medal and listened to her talk about her experiences.
They also presented her with a handmade pen crafted in the Mens Shed in the centre.
Ms Parry went to school at Moreton Bay College and played for Redlands Rugby Union Club in the early days.
She was also a member of the 2010 Women’s Rugby World Cup squad that finished in third place.
