Redland Rhapsody Chorus has just celebrated its 20 year anniversary as Redlands’ premier female a cappella singing group.
After 16 years as director of Redland Rhapsody Chorus, director Susan Lansdown will now join the other chorus members on the risers as a tenor and support the group’s new director, Louise Brannon.
Susan took the chorus to competition 10 times over her 16 years. Highlights include gaining Most Improved (by 100 points) at Wollongong in 2002, Champion Small Chorus in 2007, fifth place in Open Competition in Hobart in 2009 and inaugural winners of the new Entertainment Package in Sydney in 2014.
Louise joined the chorus with her mother 20 years ago and has shown exceptional musical talent and experience in Sweet Adeline chorus.
Another talented member, Megan Bishop has stepped into the role of visual leader. Megan has a strong musical theatre and dance background and has been a part of the visual and costume teams over the past few years. Susan Evans became president in March 2016.
This year, the chorus has sung at Cleveland Crazy Da, performed at Redland Performance Arts Centre for Seniors Week and at QPAC as part of Brisbane Sings.
Redland Rhapsody Chorus is a place for women of all ages to sing, make new friends and have fun. The chorus rehearses every Tuesday night at Alexandra Hills. More on www.redlandrhapsodychorus.org.au
