The biggest market in the Southern Moreton Bay Islands will be held from 8am to 2pm on Sunday, October 2 at the Karragarra Foreshore Park.
Extra ferries are scheduled to run from Redland Bay marina and around the islands. Car parking is beside Sel Outridge Park on the mainland and a 10 minute walk to ferry terminal.
There will be more than 50 stalls including clothes, cakes, crafts, salt rubs, recycled items, edible flowers, wind chimes, bric a brac, candles, heliconias, embroidery and food. A plant stall featuring hundreds of plants is being run by the Karragarra Community Garden.
A Speakers and entertainment program will highlight gardening, food growing and sustainable solutions for island building. Entertainment includes a martial arts display (8.45am), Baysamba drummers (9.45am, noon and 1.30pm) with talks on permaculture by Tim Barker (9.15am and 10.15am), belly dancing instruction with Jan Leader (10.45am), a talk on edible flowers and weeds with Simone Jelly (11.15am) and affordable and eco friendly housing options with Tony Gilson (12.45pm).
