Annabelle Morton, of Alexandra Hills has been offered an opportunity to study at one of Australia's finest ballet schools in Melbourne, after taking her Australian Conservatoire of Ballet ballet exam at Redland Dance in Cleveland.
Redland Dance implements the training and syllabus of the Australian Conservatoire of Ballet in their classical ballet program.
The program was devised by former principal artist of the Australian Ballet, Christine Walsh and is based on the Vaganova method which is taught in many leading ballet establishments around the world.
When Christine came to examine the students of Redland Dance in their annual ballet examinations, she saw such potential in ACB Level 5 student Annabelle, that she offered her a place to study full time in Melbourne.
The Advanced Diploma of Dance (Elite Performance) course held at the school in Melbourne has produced graduates who have gone on to gain contracts at The Australian Ballet, The Royal New Zealand Ballet, Queensland Ballet, Colorado Ballet Company, The Norwegian National Ballet, Deutsche Oper-Berlin, Royal Ballet and Dutch National Ballet.
Annabelle has been a dedicated student of Redland Dance for the past 10 years.
"I am extremely pleased for Annabelle and the opportunity that she has been given,’’ said Redland Dance co-director Rebecca Clarke.
“Not only is she a dedicated dance student, she is also completely committed to her Year 12 academic studies.
“Annabelle has proven to our younger students that with hard work and determination, you can in fact have it all.’’
