The Bunker Cartoon Gallery is sending its latest exhibition Cartoons from the Bunker to the Grand View Hotel’s upstairs art gallery from October 14 until November 20.
The exhibition is a sequel of sorts to the hotel’s inaugural Bald Archy Exhibition which was seen by more than 4000 people after featuring on various television and radio prints and print media.
“We had a such a great response from media and patrons all over Queensland with the Bald Archy’s, we are doing it again. This sort of exhibition is always a lot of fun,” owner Gerald Brock said.
Displayed will be 100 cartoons of places, situations and characters that make Australia unique.
The exhibition comes from the iconic Bunker gallery in Coffs Harbour, created out of a WW2 communication bunker. The gallery has hung more than 21,000 works, dating from 1918. Since 1985, it has run the Rotary Cartoon awards.
Entry to the Grand View is $5 and $4. The gallery is open from 10am to 3pm daily. More on 3884 3000.
