Redland violinist Camille Barry will lead the Redland Sinfonia in its final concert of the year, Songs of Many Lands being staged at the Donald Simpson Leisure Centre at 2pm on Sunday, November 13.
Ms Barry has been awarded many scholarships and prizes over the last decade, and has played solo violin with a dearth of Australian and international orchestras. As well as being guest concertmaster, she will play one of the best-loved solos in the repertoire, the stirring Czardas by Monti.
The Redland Sinfonia will also be joined by the Cannon Hill Anglican College Senior Vocal Group to perform a widely varied selection of songs, including some arrangements by the Sinfonia’s conductor, Dr Graeme Denniss.
Mr Denniss describes the program as a musical odyssey around the world.
“It explores the rich diversity of many cultures, with songs and dances from Russia to Africa, and from America to Australia” he said.
Afternoon tea includes cake and tea and coffee.
Tickets are adults $20, seniors/pensioners $15, students/children $10. Book with Marlene on 3820 8310 between 5pm and 8pm, or via PO Box 827, Cleveland 4163
