Award winning Wellington Point artist Karen Benjamin will be showcasing her exhibition 'Plastic Planet' at Redland Museum in November and December.
ART: Karen Benjamin has turned plastic into art. This is the subject of an exhibition at the Redland Museum in November and December.
This exhibition will coincide with National Recycling Week. To mark the week, Ms Benjamin is holding a recycled plastic workshop at Indigiscapes, which will be combined with a return bus trip to the exhibition launch at 10am on Thursday, November 10. Bookings can be made on 3824 8611.
Ms Benjamin’s work comes from donations of plastic packaging from family, friends and local businesses which she transforms into loud and colourful art. Along with the local community Karen has managed to save about one million plastic bags from landfill and waterways.
