COLLIERS is marketing commercial units in Cleveland for as little as $120,000 that they hope will appeal to boat and caravan owners.
Colliers David Gibson said the M-space commercial units were the first investment of such a size and type in Cleveland and they were also aimed at tradies and small businesses.
“We are getting interest from people who would traditionally rent these sorts of commercial spaces,” Mr Gibson said.
“But with the low cost point combined with record low interest rates it means the loan repayments are similar or even cheaper than paying rent.”
M-Space business development manager Hamish Jackson said the units had a kitchenette, toilet and shower, combined with a private, covered hardstand for easy vehicle access and wash bay.
“We have already sold half of the units in a similar development not far away in Wynnum,” Mr Jackson said.
“The buyers have been small businesses looking for more storage or home owners that have outgrown their garages and need the space.”
The home-style amenities provide a point of difference from traditional warehouse units.
Mr Gibson said the hard stand and easy access was a big attraction.
“Being so close to the water Cleveland has a big demographic of boat owners,’’ he said. “The covered hardstand means they can store boats, bikes and caravans outside or lock up securely inside.”
The units are 0.5K from Redland Hospital.
