A message from the principal
It would appear that the only time education gains a spot on centre stage is whenever there is heated debate and controversy over the issue of state versus private education.
Having been in the privileged position of holding senior administrative positions in both the state and private sector of education, my contention is that the quality of the educational experience we provide for children has nothing to do with which sector we represent.
Quality schools exist in both the state and private sectors.
In quality schools, children are at the heart of the educational enterprise.

They are the reason for which we exist.
Relationships are the core of our business.
As educators, we are privileged to be in a position to serve the youth of this country.
It is important in our role that we create the educational environment that will allow children to learn and to grow.
Quality schools know the answers as to how children feel about their school:
- Do they feel safe?
- Do they have fun at school?
- Do they see a purpose in the activities in which they engage?
- Are subjects and lessons meaningful for them?
- Do we make school a special place for our students?
Only when we gain the trust and confidence of our students can we begin the process of educating them.
Schools are not preparation for life – they are life.
In our classrooms we have the heart of the whole society.
Education is helping the child realise his/her potentialities.
No one has yet fully realised the wealth of sympathy, kindness, and generosity hidden in the souls of children.
The effort of every true educator should be to unlock that treasure for the world.
How can that responsibility lie within the direct province of state or private education?
It belongs to us all.
