With Schoolies 2016 more than halfway through, the latest statistics from emergency services show this year's group are behaving badly.
Despite emergency services continually saying they are pleased with the behaviour of schoolies on the Gold Coast, the number of arrests has almost double compared to the same period in 2015.
By Wednesday morning, 38 schoolies had been arrested, mainly on charges of public nuisance but also drug possession. At the same time last year, 20 arrests had been made.
Video also emerged of a security guard being attacked on the coast after reportedly trying to break-up a fight. It is unclear whether a schoolie or a "toolie" was involved in the incident, where the security guard was kicked before another guard came to the rescue.

Until Wednesday morning, about 300 schoolies have been treated at the Queensland Ambulance Service treatment centre, with 10 taken to hospital.
