While many people were looking for places to cool off due to the hot weather and then a thunder storm, Redlands third grade batsman Adam Pearson had the Ipswich/Logan players running all over the field chasing the ball as he scored 138 runs which included 13 fours and five sixes.
Pearson’s score, from 114 balls, enabled Redlands to reach 253 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their one-day game at home last Saturday. Ipswich/Logan were five down for 131 runs when the thunder storm ended play, resulting in a Redlands win due to a better run rate.
1st Grade played Ipswich/Logan in a two day game at Amberley and unfortunately could not reach the required total of 360 runs. Nick Hurford top scored with 58 runs, with the other main run scorers being Jimmy Peirson 50 and Harry Tyler 46 as Redlands were dismissed for 217. Batting a second time Redlands were one down for 86 runs with Steven Moss on 36 not out and our Queensland u/19 rep player Liam Smith 27 not out. The club wishes Liam all the best as he will be in Adelaide for the next two weeks playing in the National u/19 Championships.
2nd Grade also played a two-day game against Ipswich/Logan at home. Redlands added a further 20 runs early on day two before being dismissed for 206 runs. Ipswich/Logan started their run chase slowly and were finally dismissed for 180 runs thanks to a fine bowling display from Mark Rasmussen who took four wickets. Lenny Watt and Charlie Mailli chipped in taking three wickets each.
The other Grades were playing One Day matches and Redlands came away with wins in third and sixth grade no 1.Unfortunaely the weather intervened in the other results.

4th no 1 team dismissed Wests for 171 with Raven Wijeyeratne taking five wickets, Lance Parsons three and Alex Ward two. The Redlands boys started their run chase knowing that they had to score quick runs as a thunder storm was approaching. Unfortunately they lost wickets in pursuit and were not able to match the run rate set by Wests. Brandon James, 28, and Lance Parsons, 21, top scored for Redlands.
4th Grade no 2 team played a one-day game at home on Sunday and after their 40 overs put on 165 runs with the main run scorers being Jake Goodwin 36, Craig Holdsworth 30 and Greg Thompson 25.
