BAYSIDE residents have been warned to keep a close eye on the skies, with more storm activity predicted from this afternoon.
Bureau of Meteorology meteorologist Annabelle Ford said a slow moving trough pushing against a mass of humid air was now driving the weather, which resulted in wild weather on Saturday, Monday and Tuesday nights.
A similar system was also responsible for the storms which battered Redland City from last Friday, November 25.
“We have seen a similar pattern for days with heat and moisture and in terms of severity,” she said.
“Wind in the upper atmosphere has caused the storms to get more organised.”
While a high of 28C is expected today, a drop in temperatures is predicted from Friday onwards thanks to a forecast southerly change.
Ms Ford said the change would push the storm activity north away from the greater Brisbane region.
