COLES bayside supermarkets are open for an extra hour in the morning from Monday to Saturday and an extra four hours on Saturday evenings after a decision by the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission to streamline trading hours across the south east.
This includes the Cleveland and Victoria Point stores.
Before the changes, these stores’ opening hours were 8am to 9pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 5pm on Saturdays.
They are now open from 7am to 9pm from Monday to Saturday.
Coles state general manager Paul Bradshaw said the extended hours would better suit customers who wanted flexibility.
“Longer hours will provide customers with greater choice and convenience when it comes to grocery shopping, particularly in the lead up to the busy holiday period,” he said.
“The extra hour on week days will be great for people on their way to work in the mornings, and the additional four hours on Saturday evenings will give customers more time to do their weekly shop or pick up groceries for last minute weekend plans.”
In addition, Coles stores across the region will be open until midnight on Friday, December 23.
