REDLAND Bay Coast Guard volunteers helped to rescue a man injured in a boat crash on the Logan River on Saturday afternoon.
Coast Guard commander Warren Francis said they were contacted about 4.40pm by a man who had significant leg injuries sustained when his boat crashed into trees along the river.
The man and his brother – both in their twenties – were unsure of their location.
Mr Francis said the 14ft Swift Craft was found near Tansey Park at Tanah Merah with help from a jet skier on the water in the area.
“It was not accessible by road, only by water,” he said.
The Coast Guard volunteers transported paramedics and firefighters from a nearby boat ramp to the crash scene.
Emergency services personnel helped the injured man from the boat lodged in the trees to the Coast Guard vessel.
He was taken by boat to an awaiting ambulance about 500 metres away and transported to Logan Hospital.
Mr Francis said the Redland Bay Coast Guard boats were the closest rescue vessels for the Logan River.
Saturday’s rescue took about 50 minutes.
Redland Bay Water Police are investigating the incident.
