Despite some interference from the rain last Saturday it was pleasing to see players from all the Redlands teams putting in some super efforts.
In 1st Grade Jon Stimpson backed up his brilliant bowling performance in the recent game against Gold Coast, by taking 3 wickets for 14 runs off nine overs last Saturday in the game against Norths being played at Wellington Point. He was ably supported by Josh Henderson who took 3 for 29 and Cameron Brimblecombe who took 2 for 27 from 20 overs as Norths were dismissed for 127 runs. At stumps on day one Redlands were 3 for 61 with Ryan LeLoux 42 not out. With plenty of patience, the Tigers should hang on for a win against a strong Norths bowling attack.
2nd Grade were all out for 182 in their game against Norths with Jason Grosvenor 43, Josh Ryan 40 and Sean Kelly 31 runs all getting starts but not going on with it. Hopefully the Redlands bowlers will perform well this Saturday and they come away with a much-needed victory.
3rd Grade playing at home were seven down for 210 runs at stumps on day one of their two-day game against Norths. The top scorers for the Tigers were Sohi Shojaei with 75 and Jamie Stuart on 63 not out. Hopefully Redlands can add some further runs to their total and then dismiss Norths cheaply for a win on home soil.
4th Grade no 1 team were 8 down for 129 runs when play was called off early due to the rain with Rory Smith 53 and Lance Parsons 20 not out the major run scorers for Redlands. Hopefully with a few more runs on the board, the Tigers can defend their score and come away with a win.
4th Grade no 2 team are playing Wests at home on the Ron Field oval and after a long afternoon in the field, Redlands has the opposition 9 down for 257 runs. Pick of the Tigers bowlers was Jason Hill with four wickets and Jacob Apted three. Hopefully the Redlands boys are up to the task when they bat this Saturday.
5th Grade played their game at home on Sunday and batted well to be 8 for 257 at stumps on day one. Top scorers for the Tigers are Jake Goodwin with 74 runs, Jack Fraser 60, Matthew Conwell 46 and Jarvis Cleary 25. Redlands has a good bowling attack and should come away with a victory against Norths next Sunday.
6th Grade no 1 have Norths 7 for 168 thanks to a super effort from Scott Butters who took 5 for 58 in another good display of bowling. Hopefully Redlands can wrap up the tail early this Saturday and then bat well enough to take first innings points.
6th Grade no 2 are playing Valleys at home on the Ron Field oval. Valleys were dismissed for 164 with Matthew Wheeler taking the superb figures of 7 wickets for 42 runs. However, the Redlands boys are under some pressure as they were 7 for 88 runs at stumps on day one and with Zac Dale 41 not out. The remaining batsmen will have to bat well to take first innings points.
The Redlands Women’s 2nd Grade team played a one-day game against Valleys at home on Sunday and came away with a good win. Valleys were dismissed for 101 runs with Paige McConnell and Sarah Lockhart each taking three wickets. Redlands were able to chase down the required runs for the loss of two wickets as Evie Massingham 25 not out and Sarah Lockhart 22 not out led their team home to victory.
