ALEXANDRA Hills man Johaan Kaa is now the proud owner of the Flag of the City of Brisbane.
The special honour was conferred to him on Saturday by Brisbane City councillor Ryan Murphy at the Waitangi Day celebrations at the Moreton Bay Sports Club.

Cr Murphy, in a letter presented to Mr Kaa on the day, said Mr Kaa had set an example in the “finest traditions of civic service”.
“Johaan’s message is simple and his personal message ‘No Hands, No Feet, No Excuses’, serves to remind us that disability is not the end,” Cr Murphy wrote.
Mr Kaa, whose hands and legs from the knees below were amputated in 2014 after a meningococcal diagnoses, has helped those experiencing adversity through his motivational speaking duties.
While the Waitangi Day celebrations helped to commemorate New Zealand’s history, efforts to raise dollars for Mr Kaa’s vision of bionic hands and improved leg attachments also took place.
Up to $1 million is needed to make Mr Kaa’s dream come true and for the ongoing maintenance costs.
Mr Kaa was fitted with an interim hook attachment to his left arm last week thanks to money he said was donated by the Brisbane Airport Corporation.
