Canberra's heat has forced the WNBL to reschedule the Capitals' clash against the Bendigo Spirit by almost 24 hours after officials moved to protect players.
The Capitals will shift their tip-off from 3pm on Saturday to 12pm on Sunday in the hope of avoiding scorching 41-degree temperatures on the weekend.
It comes less than a week after W-League officials delayed the start to Canberra United's semi-final by six hours in similar circumstances at Canberra Stadium.
The Capitals are fighting to stay in WNBL finals contention and need to win their last three games of the regular season to end a six-year play-off drought.
The Capitals had been investigating options to delay its start time against Bendigo or ways to cool the stadium at Tuggeranong.
But the WNBL ruled the best option was to shift the game to the following day, despite temperatures still expected to rise as high as 36 on Sunday.
Capitals general manager Matthew Phelps said on Tuesday: "We're putting a few things in place to ensure that we can minimise the heat which is in the stadium, but also [to] ensure people are refuelling with water and dehydration isn't a factor.
"...We're putting in place certain systems and benefits we can provide to our fans and players to ensure their health and wellbeing during the game, if it is as hot as they're saying it potentially could be on Saturday."
