Redlands recorded six wins from nine games in the recently completed round of one and two day matches in the Brisbane Premier competition.

Unfortunately, 1st Grade, who dismissed Sandgate/Redcliffe for 247 runs were unable to chase down the required runs last Saturday. Steven Moss top scored for the Tigers with 32 and Jimmy Peirson and Martin Miers both scored 27 runs.

2nd Grade played at home on the Peter Burge Oval and set Sandgate/Redcliffe 237 runs to win. The Redlands bowlers fought hard in the heat and dismissed the opposition for 187 late on day two to take first innings points. Lenny Watt took four wickets and Craig Weier three.

3rd Grade played Sandgate/Redcliffe away and after Robert Ballarino lead the way with the ball on day one, the Tigers batsmen ran riot on day two and scored 334 runs. UK visitor Rory Smith who is being looked after by our very own Marnus Labuschagne, led the charge with a brilliant 119 not out off 127 deliveries which included twenty fours and one six. Scott McAuliffe played a great innings scoring 75 runs and Adam Pearson chipped in with 43 runs.

5th Grade played at Sandgate and did well to dismiss the opposition for 166 runs. However, the Redlands boys did not bat well on day two and were dismissed for 140 with Pearce Anderson 33 and Khaleel Waqar 26 the top run scorers. Sandgate/Redcliffe batted again and were 6 down for 75 at stumps with Matthew Wheeler taking two wickets.

And then the collapse happened with Redlands being dismissed for 53 in their second innings leaving Sandgate/Redcliffe 86 runs to gain an outright victory. James Cullen and Edward Little made sure that did not happen with both of them taking three wickets each as Sandgate/Redcliffe were 7 down for 55 at the end of play.

Unfortunately, the opposition were able to score more runs than Redlands with Hannah Fannin top scoring with 44, Sarah Grove 33 not out and Jo Friske 28 not out. Jo took the bowling honours for Redlands taking three wickets.
