MONEY for extra furniture, sporting equipment and incursions could soon be on its way to The Sycamore School at Alexandra Hills.
It will all be thanks to fundraising efforts at the upcoming fourth annual Wellington Point Charity Day, which is on from 2pm this Sunday at venue Hogan's.
Organiser Paul Branagan said he expected up to $13,000 to be raised from raffle sales, auctions and sponsorships.
Patrons will be able to go into the draw to win prizes including an overnight stay at Mooloolaba, four night camper van hire, sporting gear signed by boxing greats Jeff Horn and Lennox Lewis and more.
Mr Branagan, who organised the past three charity days to raise money for different organisations, said he chose The Sycamore School as a beneficiary because of the outstanding work by the school’s committee and management to establish the school.
The Sycamore School, which caters to primary-aged students with autism, opened its doors for the first time at the beginning of term one this year.
“I think it is pretty amazing,” Mr Branagan said.
“They are a group of parents who got a school together from scratch.”
